with one performer (Sarah Plochl): - If only I could fuck myself (Milky Way)- Live performance, 2021 @ Easterfield Festival 25 min
"Hera was a pretty cool and independent kind of woman. But her husband Zeus was a real player. Of course it’s fine to have a love affair here and there, but he just kept on lying to Hera the whole - fucking - time. She was a tough
emancipated woman and was quite large with things like that because she also enjoyed “flying around freely” herself.
But during the years a bit of mistrust had built up between the two of them. One thing had also become quite a big issue. Hera would like to have children at some point. But Zeus didn’t want to."
We want it all. And we don't want any bullshit. We learned how to handle violence, patronizing comments, we learned how to support each other and still learning to take care of ourselves, we learned how to manage being as independent from authorities, men and lovers as possible. But what happens when an almost archaic urge slowly hits us? The merciless desire to become a mother.
In this new performance by Louise Vind Nielsen she combines elements of poetry, mythology and sound art examining a complex and quite personal topic of motherhood or rather, unwanted non-motherhood, with an obscure and humorous approach.
