Whether after a long journey or a day of shopping, this is a familiar and hygienic place to retreat.

For Papierkino, Mikropol temporarily returns to its former function as a public restroom. One by one, visitors enter a toilet stall as it becomes available, while the others wait their turn. The queue is long, but everyone eventually gets in.

Emily Pogson's Waiting in Line explores precisely this experience of waiting—remaining on standby, letting time pass, and following the unspoken rules of the queue. Wherever a line forms, a few more people quickly join it. Why are we standing here again? Who was here first? And what actually happens once it is your turn?

Louise Vind Nielsen's contribution, Women Are Like Milk, consists of a column and a woven wall hanging made from toilet paper. Woven into the tapestry are, among other things, printed toilet paper rolls bearing jokes that many visitors may find familiar. Sexist and stereotypical narratives emerge as memory-like fragments without ever being fully articulated. The work examines how normative systems of control are transmitted through myth and humor, revealing something about who belongs, who is excluded, and how deeply such narratives are woven into our collective consciousness.

Emily Pogson is an illustration student at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW). Their work tells stories of lesbians in the rural landscapes of Lower Saxony and fantasies of revenge against men in the city. Drawing from everyday life, oral narratives, and imagination, Pogson's practice is complemented by their work in feminist youth education. @epogsid

Louise Vind Nielsen explores psychological spaces and mythological motifs through a practice that often combines sound, installation, play, resistance, and tenderness. Milk mist and mosh pits, deaf dogs and people who hear voices, colliding ventilators—her works create encounters in which free imagination and active intervention in the world collide. @louise_vind_nielsen
